Where have the last three years gone?????

Soooooo....It has been way too long since I last wrote on here.... Although the excuse " We have been crazy busy," is the first that comes to mind, it breaks my heart to see how much time I have missed and how many memories I have never written down.  Let's do a quick recap on the last year.
The Nick and Amber Avery Clan has relocated to North Dakota!  This month marks 1 year!  Nick got an amazing job up here and we couldn't live without him.... so we all piled into our 40ft. fifth wheel toyhauler and headed north to the oil patch....Life has it's challenges in a "mobile domain," but we are very thankful to be here together.  We have learned so much; not only about ourselves and eachother, but also about different cultures and people.  We've made some amazing, life long friends.  We also miss our family and friends back home terribly.  We are thankful for the small things.... Like.... Hot Water.... A washer and dryer...warm days...toilets that aren't clogged...a roof over our heads...portable heaters :).... We have created a new respect for cold weather...wind storms.... MUD!!....people's space....vehicles in good repair....short car rides....food storage.
We know we are here for a reason and are so thankful for the challenges we have been handed.  We have embraced this journey and have learned to love it.  We know that our family has grown so much from this experience.  Our children if nothing else, have gained survival skills you couldn't learn in the marines..:)... They are super tough and we are so proud of the people they are becoming.  I know that someday they will look back on this time in their lives with fond memories of snuggling to stay warm...playing on the farm...watching fireflies...seeing the flame flicker from the rigs in the fields...the big red barn....hide and go seek in the trees....porcupine quills...ticks...salamanders....MUDDDDD!!!  I pray that they will always find the good in everything and hopefully laugh and learn from the struggle.

Nick at his Fluids Engineer Graduation dinner.  This was the first class to complete
this coarse on the fast track program.  We were all so proud of him for all his hard work.
